Well, what a year 2021 was! It was the most challenging year for us as a company by far as I’m sure it was for a lot of people. Running a company is challenging enough when everything is going right. Making sure there’s enough work for all employees, ensuring you have enough cash flow to keep paying people and suppliers, making sure staff are happy, programming projects to work in with your schedule. All these are a challenge in themselves, but then you throw in the coronavirus and it starts to get very tricky. Site’s shutdown, staff having to self-isolate, implementing new safety procedures so the workplace is as safe as possible. It was a crazy year! If you are in a similar position and you’ve got through the year, then give yourself a pat on the back and have a well-earned break this Christmas.

This year, Wainwright Facades has seen significant growth because of the setbacks from covid and then having to get more personnel to complete projects in a shorter period than anticipated, and we now have a 30 strong team, which is exciting going into the new year. One of the things I look at the end of the year is all the mistakes we’ve made. It’s not a nice thing to do but I feel it’s imperative that we address them all so we can learn from them and keep evolving. 

I want to wish everyone the best Christmas and 2022. Please take a solid break from the year. I’m one of the biggest culprits for not having much of a break, but I am off to England for Christmas with my family this year and I couldn’t be happier to turn my phone off and get some well needed downtime and I encourage everyone to do the same. We will all be back at work soon enough.
