BUSINESS Development Manager




Wainwright Facades is a specialist facade contractor based in Canberra that offers a wide range of cladding solutions. We specialise in the installation of ‘design –flexible’ pre-fabricated timber cladding panels, manufactured by our partner company, Wellington Architectural. All of our timber cladding panels are manufactured with concealed fixings which enables architects, designers and contractors to create beautiful timber surfaces efficiently, minimizing waste and installation time.


We have recently separated Wainwright Facades into two companies. Wainwright Facades will provide all installation services, and our new company, Wellington Architectural, will manufacture and supply our timber panel range. We will be focussing on Wellington Architectural to get our name out, grow our customer base and convert these relationships into projects. Your role as Business Development Manager will work alongside our Director and Marketing Manager to be the face of the business promoting our product range, identifying and meeting potential customers, maintaining existing relationships and converting opportunities into projects.


  • Meet with architects in the Canberra region to present our existing product range, new products, or products for a specific project

  • Electronic communication to follow up meetings with copies of presentation and product brochures

  • Work with the Marketing Manager to develop additional marketing material to effectively deliver presentations and address recurring customer questions

  • Establish, develop and maintain positive long-term business and customer relationships

  • Reach out to new customer leads through cold calling or other means

  • Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs and keep up-to-date with best practices and promotional trends

  • Keep records of meetings, leads and potential projects and schedule follow ups


  • Resilient, autonomous and passionate individual with a strong ability to build relationships. 

  • Proven working experience as a business development manager, sales representative or a relevant role

  • Highly motivated and target driven

  • Excellent communication, selling and negotiation skills

  • Strong attention to detail, prioritising, time management and organisational skills

  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software

  • Relationship management skills and openness to feedback

  • Experience in the construction or architecture industry is advantageous
